Pulling Focus Ltd for the Tabard Theatre presents
LIZA, LIZA, LIZA
A brand new play by Richard Harris
Directed by Phil Willmott, Designed by Colin Mayes
Musical Direction by Neil MacDonald, Choreography by
Racky Plews
Lighting by Miguel Vicente, Sound by James Nicholson
'With
flashy dance routines, grandiose musical numbers and
a stiff drink in hand, Richard Harris’ versions of
Liza Minnelli are exuberant, charming and
surprisingly candid'
The Upcoming
'Richard
Harris has penned a brilliant new play which is a
tribute, a raucous examination and a celebration of
all things Ms Minnelli. More than that, it’s also a
reflection on what it is to be human in a mad world
and although we may not all be from such stellar
circles as Liza, there’s much to identify with.'
The GayUK
‘We're going to have
some songs, some dance, some facts and, who knows, maybe
some fiction.’ Liza Minnelli
‘Regrets is something I don’t do. I don’t see the
point thinking about what I should have done, could have
done, might have done.’ Liza Minnelli
The Tabard Theatre in West London will present the world
premiere of Richard Harris’ new play, Liza Liza Liza
from 5 - 29 September 2013.
Liza Liza Liza is a play that turns back the years, and
peels back the veneer, on one of Hollywood's most
compelling living icons. The professional and private
lives of Liza Minnelli have experienced dizzying highs
and crashing lows all ruthlessly captured and sold by
the world's media.
Playwright Richard Harris (Outside Edge, The Business of
Murder) worked with Liza Minnelli in 1991 when she was
cast in the film adaption of his award winning play
Stepping Out. In his new play, Harris unearths and
examines the tremendous and tragic tale of Liza's
journey.
Liza Liza Liza plays a strictly limited run at the
Tabard Theatre until 29 September.
